For this week, we are sharing with you affordable makeup bases from Korea that you should not miss! We’ll be reviewing the Lejong Control Tone Up & Wrinkles Cream, the Holika Holika Face 2 Change CC Cream and the ESPOIR Pro Tailor Foundation Be Glow SPF25 PA++. Be it brightening, colour correcting or coverage, we have you covered!

Lejong Control Tone Up & Wrinkles Cream

First up, we have the Lejong Control Tone Up & Wrinkles Cream. With its smooth and moist texture, this foundation is more suitable for oily skin and for those who want a high-coverage foundation.

The Lejong Control Tone Up and Wrinkles Cream is great for a fresh look with minimal make-up. It gives you a glowy effect and little to medium coverage! Although it’s supposed to have a lifting effect, it’s too thick for us and we cannot blend it well. It can look cakey on your face. That’s slightly disappointing!

Formulated with natural ingredients that is soothing for sensitive skin, this total care foundation corrects your skin colour, brightens your complexion, and resolves wrinkles. Sadly, the Lejong Control Tone Up and Wrinkles Cream only comes in one shade, so be sure to test it out to ensure if it suits your skin colour!

Holika Holika Face 2 Change CC Cream

Next up, the Holika Holika Face 2 Change CC Cream is a light-weight formula that is suitable for hot and humid weather like Singapore.

This cream is good when you want a very light coverage with a glow. So if you’re looking for a cream that gives you high coverage, this might not be the product for you. This cream gives a subtle glow and lasts approximately 8 hours. However, a downside is that it does not cover dark circles well. As is the case with most Korean skincare products, this CC cream only comes in two shades, so you have to see which shade suits your skin better!

ESPOIR Pro Tailor Foundation Be Glow SPF25 PA++

Last but not least, let me introduce you to the ESPOIR Pro Tailor Foundation Be Glow SPF25 PA++! For someone like me who will go for a more natural make-up look, this foundation is the perfect one for me.

Want your skin to look hydrated but not oily? This foundation is the perfect answer for you! It gives you a dreamy and dewy finish like my favourite Korean oppas.

The foundation colour corrects and conceals blemishes with a natural radiant finish. It’s moisturising and gives you a natural glow, which makes it perfect for dry skin.

Psst, it doesn’t even dry out your skin throughout the entire day.

My only complaint would that be the tip of the applicator is unfriendly in terms of usage. To rectify this, I use a make-up sponge to build up coverage instead. And also, be careful how much you use – one small pump is enough to cover your entire face!

This foundation is one that lasts – so expect your make up to stay on your face (where it belongs) throughout the entire day! So… work throughout the entire day and then party at night!

Best part of this foundation is that it comes in a whopping 10 shades that should be easy to match your own skin tone.! It’s honestly really hard to find a Korean skincare brand that’s this inclusive… so… you go ESPOIR!

Overall thoughts

Overall, ESPOIR Pro Tailor Foundation Be Glow SPF25 PA++ is the best for both coverage, fluidity, and glow! They also have another version - ESPOIR Pro Tailor Foundation Be Silk SPF25 PA++, which is more suitable for oily skin. This is my favourite brand out of these three, and I highly recommend you try it out too!
